Indian visa fiasco!

This morning i had my first encounter with indian bureaucracy while trying to get my visa. With the mixture of red tape and my own idiocy, i spent 2 HOURS at the visa centre in Victoria rather than 15 minutes. There was some kind of system of queueing but i'm not sure i could describe it as it was utterly incomprehensible. Anyway i quite liked the atmosphere of anarchy that was rising with the heat, people sitting around on the floors and strangers chatting to one another all over the room.
My favourite thing was the row of tatty velour dining chairs lined up outside the main door for anyone who felt like a little sit down in the sun- all occupied by Indian gents smoking fags and a couple of plump mamas fanning themselves. A taste of what's to come...?!
